#C0626011
Hungry Like and Dwarf
a. Change “discard after use” to “once per quest.”
Dwarf Toss
a. Remove discard after use.
b. Change from Barbarian Skill to Hero Skill. This will change the card back.
c. Specifically call out Ranger in the card text. I added the barbarian and left room open for “similar classes,” which allows YOU to define what they are, including berserkers.
d. You wanted an attack, but did not actually specify what the attack value was supposed to be. I made a judgement call here, and assigned Attack 4 (hence the four combat die icons). If you want a different attack value, please specify.
Dual-Wield
a. Give the me the exact game text you want for this card.
b. Add Market Value 1000g
c. This is the card where I drew the line at redesigning existing cards. I explained that, you accepted it, and we moved on.
Bard’s Lute
a. Change from ARMOR to Artificers Guild. This will change the card back.
b. Remove the weapon profile and card icons entirely and convert to pure text.
Dragon Lance
a. Change range profile to Diagonal.
Dragonhide Grimoire
a. Give me the exact game text you want for this card.
b. I changed Market Value from 1400 to 1000 for you. Later, you asked to remove it. Market Value has been restored to 1000g.
c. Since this is now a full rework, I went ahead and updated the fonts.
Wysplight
a. Change to ATK 3
b. Market Value 600g
c. Add “May only be equipped by an elf, rogue, ranger, or bard.”
Whipwind Bracers
a. Add Market Value 550g
Cloak of Invisibility
a. Add “May only be equipped by a wizard, warlock, rogue, or ranger.”
Eder Wand of Uv’Ghuud
a. Add “May only be equipped by a druid, wizard, or warlock.”
b. In addition to the direct damage ability, this also has a weapon profile. It functions just like a warlock’s wand, but with an attack of 1. Do you want to keep or remove the weapon profile?
c. The 5+ icon is a poison resist icon, that is a formatting error. There is supposed to be an arcane charge icon in that spot, not a resist icon. This entire icon has been removed.
Helm of Magnus
a. Change to “While equipped, you are immune to Command, Sleep, and Fear spells.”
Phoenix Gate
a. Add “May only be equipped by a druid, wizard, or warlock.”
POST-PRODUCTION CHANGE REQUEST
#1 We are going to get this figured out, one card at a time, and I will have your deck reprinted and shipped to you asap.
#2 Your full participation in the proofing process is critical. Please carefully read and review every card preview before approving them. Please read through each email and reply carefully.
#3 We will use email and blog comments to communicate for the remainder of the project. This makes tracking changes extremely difficult, especially when conversation is mixed in. For complex orders, I switch to my desktop for communication as the website is much easier to use. Even then, we still ended up in the weeds on this deck.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY NOTES
As I previously explained, I do not make HeroQuest cards. I make Advanced Armory cards, which are compatible with HeroQuest. When I reference other cards, I will default to using Advanced Armory card names or keywords.
Where language is fair use, we can use common names. In many cases, we need to choose a different name. This occurs on a number of proxies or similar cards, such as spells.
Without getting too much into the legal quagmire, I can get away with using the word Berserker depending on how it’s used. “A berserker” is fine, while “The Berserker” specifically references HeroQuest. Applying the word as a subtype or without “a” or “the” to specify context leaves it open to interpretation. As this is causing too much confusion, I am removing this word entirely from all cards.
ADVANCED ARMORY SYSTEM NOTES
Skills, spells, and other card-based abilities are not consumables. “Discard after use” prevents a player from trying to play the same card more than once per quest. At the start of the next quest (or once the current quest ends, depending on your timing preference), the card repopulates.
The blue table and Arcane College card back indicate an item is created specifically for use by spell casters, which includes wizards, warlocks, druids, bards, spellswords, and any other hero class that can cast spells of any kind. In addition to looking great, the visual cues eliminate the need to spell this out in text, which is a hallmark of Advanced Armory’s design philosophy.
